Austin 16U softball team wins Class C state championship

The Austin 16U softball team won the Class C championship. The Austin 16U softball team won the Class C championship. The Austin 16U softball team won the Class C State championship this past weekend in St. Cloud. Austin had to win three straight elimination games to win the tournament and it topped it off by beating the Minnewaksa Lakers 5-4 and 2-1.

“This was a team effort all around both days.  I am so proud of how each one of them played,” Austin head coach Lisa Jacobs said.

Austin beat the Venom 8-6 to get to the championship game.

Austin opened the tournament with an 11-3 win over the Rochester Dynamite, it topped the Lakers 10-3 and it topped the Venom 3-2. Austin was in the elimination bracket when it lost to the Lakers 8-7.
