The Austin Bruins pulled off another franchise first when they earned their first trip to the Robertson Cup Finals after they beat the Topeka Roadrunners 4-3 in overtime in game three of the Robertson Cup semifinals in Topeka Sunday night.

Drew Anderson, who is from Rochester, scored the game-winning and series clinching goal just 2:07 into overtime to give Austin the win. The Bruins had led 3-2 late in regulation, but Topeka’s Tyler Poulson scored a power play goal to tie the game at 3-3 with 1:27 left in regulation.

Nick Lehr had 29 saves in the win for Austin, which will now play at Fairbanks Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the NAHL title on the line.
