Packer boys track and field team wins Faribault Invite

The Austin boys track and field team won the four-team Faribault Invite Thursday.

The Packers tallied a team score of 91 and Winona took second with a 67. Faribault was third with a 57 and Rochester John Marshall was fourth with a 56.

“Nice meet for the boys,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “Good win and a nice confidence builder as we get into the heart of the season over the next couple of weeks. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are going in the right direction.”

Andrew Baker took first in the 1600-meter run and 800-meter run for Austin, Jon Gallagher won the 100-meter dash, Zach Coffey won the 400-meter dash, Adam Bergstrom won the 300-meter hurdles, and Andrew Hagan won the shot put.

The Packers also took first in three of the four relays.
