GMLOS girls win Cashton track and field invite

The Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander-Southland girls track and field team won the 17-team Cashton Invite at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday.

GMLOS tallied a team score of 82 and Cashton was second with a 63.

McKenzie Kirtz took first in the 800-meter run and 1600-meter run for GMLOS.

“The girls competed well today,” GMLOS head girls coach Andrea McKichan said. “Many of the girls are coming into this season getting marks similar to where they were at closer to the end of last year, so I am really excited to see how much they’ll improve throughout the season.”

The GMLOS boy finished 12th out of 16 teams with a team score of 26 points.
