The Packers (3-5 overall, 1-3 Big Nine) had trailed by nine in the second half, but they pulled to within three with under a minute left. Austin tried to set up a 3-pointer, but Jaidyn Bastian had to settle for hitting a 2-point jumper to make it 58-57 Winona with 14 seconds left. When Winona in-bounded the ball, it ran the clock down to less than a second remaining before Austin fouled and the Packers never had another chance.

“We played really hard and we had great effort,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “We’ve got to find a way to win these close games.”
