Packer boys hockey team falls to Mankato East

The Austin boys hockey team had some penalty problems in a 4-2 loss at Mankato East (3-5 overall, 2-3 Big Nine) Saturday.

Austin (1-6-1 overall, 1-4 Big Nine) committed nine penalties for 29 minutes and the Cougars went 4-for-8 on power plays. Austin trailed 2-1 going into the third period, but the Cougars scored two goals in the first three minutes of the frame to put it away.

Blake Halsey and Tony Baudler scored goals for the Packers and Connor Poczos stopped 25 shots in net.
