The business shuffle is under way at Jim’s MarketPlace shopping center on 11th St. NE in Austin.

Jim Baldus — owner of Jim’s MarketPlace grocery store, Star Liquor and the shopping center building — recently relocated Star Liquor to the business space one slot south of where it was. In fact, the move makes way for another business to enter a more favorable spot, as satellite TV and home theater retailer New Dimensions is renovating and moving into the former Star Liquor location.

New Dimensions has been open for 15 years and will move from the industrial district on 14th Street Northeast. Owner Mike Myhre said the new location will make his business much more visible. Furthermore, New Dimensions, which offers Dish Network and Direct TV, will expand by offering more custom products and increased services.

“We’ve done a lot of custom mounting for TVs on walls,” Myhre said about the business as of late.

The company also specializes in satellite Internet, Verizon Internet systems and home theater. Wall-mounted speaker installation has been on the rise, too, Myhre added. Myhre tentatively plans to reopen Jan. 1 or after.

At Star Liquor, Baldus said his business now has 1,500 extra square footage space and room for new products. The new location has been open for nearly a month.
