Schafer: Many in Mower County were affected during WWII

Published 4:06 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013

At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the historical society will give a World War II presentation at the Senior Center, focusing on how it affected Mower County and how it wasn’t just soldiers who were fighting the war.

The people back home also contributed to the war effort. We are also looking for lots of personal stories to include in a new WWII exhibit that will be opening at the historical society next summer. If time permits we would love to hear you share your stories. Please register by stopping by the front desk or calling the Senior Center.

The holiday season can be a joy filled time but for those who have suffered a great loss, especially the death of a loved one, the holidays can be difficult. But the holidays do not necessarily have to be entirely sad.
