In a game that went down to the wire, the Lyle-Pacelli Athletics dropped the first game of its boys’ basketball season Friday night, losing 52-51 to Glenville-Emmons.

“It was a close first game and good experience for us,” first-year coach Dean DeBoer said. “We have some young kids that got off to a slow start, but they got their first minutes. It can only go up from here.”
