Letter: Grads support a ‘yes’ vote

Published 10:28 am Monday, November 4, 2013

Vote “yes” on the Nov. 5 ballot to support the Austin Public Schools’ referendum. A yes vote does not result in any increased school taxes. The funds supported through the referendum are critical to keeping our K-12 educational system healthy and thriving into the future.

Our immediate family had the privilege of attending Austin Public Schools, and we all graduated from Austin High School. Each of us greatly benefited from Austin’s strong and vital school system that provided us the educational foundation necessary to thrive in society. We believe it is our responsibility to continue to support education in our community.

A strong educational system is an investment in our youth and the community as a whole. Make yourself proud and vote “yes” to support our schools. It will be the “gift that keeps on giving.”
