Council to talk flood mitigation

The Austin City Council will learn the latest on the city’s flood mitigation efforts this week.

The council will hear an update on Turtle Creek flood mitigation efforts during a work session meeting Monday. The city is expected to start preparations on Turtle Creek mitigation this year, though workers likely won’t build berms or make mitigation efforts until next summer.

Council members will also approve a grant application to work on the sewer system of Turtle Creek 1, an area northwest of Austin in which a majority of homeowners have sought to be annexed into the city in order to receive water and sewer services.
