The Austin Stars Red 12AAA team recently took third place at the MSF state tournament in Owatonna July 26-28 and it took second place at the Stars of Tomorrow All Star Tournament in La Crosse, Wis. July 5-7.
At the state tournament, Austin beat the Rochester Rockets 16-2, beat the Willmar Reds 18-1, topped the Mankato Gold 4-3 and lost to Prior Lake 8-4 in bracket play. Austin beat Burnsville Black 13-4 to take third.
