Austin-Albert Lea Legion baseball team will host District Tournament

The Austin-Albert Lea Legion baseball team will host the First District tournament this week at Marcusen Park.

AAL will open the double elimination tournament in Rochester Century against the Rochester A’s Tuesday and the tournament will move to Marcusen on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

AAL (8-13 overall) enters the tournament as a No. 6 seed. The Rochester Patriots are the top-seed, Owatonna is No. 2, the Rochester A’s are No. 3, the Rochester Redhawks are No. 4, Winona is No. 5, Faribault is No. 7 and Kasson is No. 8.

If AAL beats the A’s Tuesday, it will play against the winner of Faribault and Owatonna Thursday at 4 p.m. in Marcusen.

If AAL loses to the A’s, it will play an elimination game Friday at 1 p.m. at Marcusen.

The District title game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. If needed, a second game would be played at 4 p.m.

Admission for the games is free for students and adults 65 and older. The cost is $2 for adults younger than 65.
