Police report: Intoxicated bicyclist crashes into trailer

An intoxicated bicyclist could face charges after running through a stop sign in Austin and crashing into an Austin Utilities trailer on Tuesday.

According to the police report, the 40-year-old cyclist ran the stop sign near the 1700 block of East Oakland Avenue after 2 p.m., hit the trailer and fell off his bike, which caused abrasions on his left arm and a bump above his left eye.

The cyclist, who was reportedly intoxicated, will receive a citation for careless driving, according to the report. It is unclear if he will be charged with DWI.
