Thorson shoots a 75 for Packers in Byron golf invite

BYRON — The Austin boys golf team tallied a team score of 338 in its season opener at the Byron Invite Monday.

Austin senior Alex Thorson shot a 71 to lead the Packers.

“We played very well for our first time out as a team playing 18 holes,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “The course was in great shape, considering the spring we’ve had. Greens rolled true, fairways were descent and the sun was out.”
