Laura Berens, daughter of Kathryn Birkeland and Tim Berens of La Crescent, and Ethan Simonson, son of Connie and David Simonson of Austin, proudly announce their engagement.

Laura is a 2003 La Crescent High School graduate and 2009 Western Technical College graduate with a major in nursing. She works at Mayo Clinic Health System’s Franciscan Health Care in La Crosse, Wis. Ethan is a 2003 Austin High School graduate and 2007 Minnesota State University–Moorhead graduate with a major in education. He now works at Lanesboro Public School.

The couple will make their home in Rushford, Minn., following the wedding on June 1, 2013.
