Curtis Kabage

Curtis Kabage

Curtis was born on Oct. 16, 1918, the son of Joseph and Emma (Spindler) Kabage in Dodge County, Minn. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Arvilla Estby on Dec. 5, 1942, in Hayfield. Curt started farming in 1942, and purchased their farm in Vernon township in 1948. Curt and Kathleen farmed there until they retired in 1978, when they moved into Hayfield.

At that time they also purchased a lake cabin near Park Rapids and have spent many wonderful years at both locations. Curt enjoyed fishing from the boat in the summer and in the ice house in the winter. During this same time he became interested in woodworking and he took pleasure in sharing his creations with others. Being an avid farmer all his life, it was a natural for Curt to continue by having a garden in town in which he spent many entertaining hours. Curt and Kathleen loved to travel in their motor home, taking many trips around the country and then further widened their horizons by taking cruises to other parts of the world. Any time you would see Curt, he was always busy with something.
