Evening to bring gusty winds and drifting snow

A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of southeast Minnesota, including Mower County, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis.

Snow will taper off and end Monday evening will little additional accumulation. Through the evening, winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph will occur across the area. Blowing snow and widespread drifting will result, especially across country areas and ridge tops. Visibility may be reduced to 1 to 3 miles.

Beginning Tuesday, no hazardous weather is predicted for the remainder of the week.
