The Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team beat Mabel-Canton (10-9 overall, 6-9 SEC) 70-27 in Pacelli Gym Monday.

Five players scored in double figures for LP, but the Athletics trailed 12-8 to start the game.

“We didn’t run our press right away because we didn’t want anyone getting into foul trouble,” LP head coach Brad Walter said. “Once we called a timeout and got into the press, the girls picked it up.”

Sarah Holtz had 17 points for LP.

The Athletics (18-2 overall, 12-2 SEC) have now won six straight games.
