A public open house for Mayo Clinic Health System’s new expansion in Austin will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The public can take self-guided tours to see the new building featuring expanded walkways, larger waiting areas, and artwork from various local artists. Refreshments also will be available in the main entrance lobby area.

Austin’s new expansion opened for business on Monday, Jan. 7. The $28 million, 85,600 square foot expansion open in three phases, with the final phase on Jan. 21.

“We are excited to finally have this state-of-the-art facility completely open for our patients,” said Dr. Mark Ciota, CEO of the medical center. “Under Rod Nordeng’s leadership and through the efforts of many, this project has been completed on time and on budget.”
