Viking boys open with a big win

WELLS — Five players scored at least 10 points for the Hayfield boys basketball team as opened its season with a 75-46 win at United South Central (0-2 overall) Tuesday.

Trevor Anderson scored 14 points and hit 4-of-8 from downtown for the Vikings (2-0 overall) and Drew Streightiff chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and five assists of the bench.

“We had balance everywhere,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “It was a total team win.”

The Vikings will take on No. 1 ranked Litchfield at the Maple River Tournament this Friday at 6:30 p.m.
