ANDOVER – The Packer wrestling team had three wrestlers in the finals as it finished fifth out of 13 teams at the Andover Invite Saturday.

Brennen Russell took first at 132 pounds, Brandon Cotter took second at 145 and Devon Felten took second at 138.

“Brennen Russell had a great tournament after taking his first defeat of the season on Thursday night. He looked focused and confident in all three of his matches,” Austin head coach Bill Kinney said. “Brandon Cotter had three state qualifiers in his bracket. He upset one of them in the semifinals, and had another on his back in the finals.”

Felten’s second place finish was a big step for him as he’s still recovering from a number of nagging injuries. He has missed out on some training and conditioning since the season began.

“Devon is ready to go every time the whistle blows,” Kinney said. “He turned in a particularly gutsy performance on Saturday.”

Austin’s Aiden Wilson took fourth at 106, Josh Maxfield was fourth at 120, Erick Power was fourth at 126 and Kole Igo was sixth at 160.
