Ellis students win VFW contest

Sixth grade students at Ellis Middle School pose for a photo after winning this year’s VFW Patriot’s Pen essay contest. This year’s contest, open to grades six through 12, had the theme “What would you tell the founding fathers about America?” These students wrote a 300-400 word essay and won $10 as a prize.
