Marvin Giese, 87, Wells

Marvin F. Giese, 87, of Wells, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Thomas Niehaus will officiate. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells following the service. Marvin was born Oct.12, 1925, in Faribault County, to Anton and Mary (Stenzel) Giese, one of 12 children. He attended Dunwoody Institute after being honorably discharged from Active Duty in the U.S. Army. During World War II he was a tank driver in the military. Marvin was a sheet metal worker in Minneapolis and did building construction. He also did house painting for several years.

Marvin is survived by his siblings: Angeline Schirmers of St. Paul, Irene (Jack) Madden of Brainerd, Mary Ann Malpede of Freemont, Calif., Dolores Stevermer of Winnebago and Al (Sandy) Giese of Coon Rapids; three sisters-in-law: Louise Giese of Wells, Elizabeth Giese of Apple Valley and Fran Giese of Osseo; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Alex, Leo, John, Peter and James; one sister Bernadette Stevermer.
