Historical Society seeking input before removing items

Published 7:52 pm Saturday, October 6, 2012

The Mower County Historical Society has to get rid of some stuff, and it wants your input.

The Historical Society invites the public to attend a forum on its planned deaccession and collections improvement project. Each forum is meant to give a clear understanding of the process, what it means for the historical society, and how it will affect its future. Attendees can ask questions and raise any concerns they may have. There will also be a tour of select buildings that demonstrate the need to undertake these initiatives. There are five forums remaining, which take place 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.

Each forum will last approximately two hours.
