Harvey Richard Todalen, 91, of Austin went to join his beloved wife, Dorothy, on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Harvey was born in Austin on Aug. 1, 1921, to Halvor and Ruth (Hanson) Todalen. On Oct. 3, 1943, he married Dorothy Eileen Haskin. The couple raised six children. Harvey worked at Hormel Foods for more than 35 years. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Harvey enjoyed participating in the YMCA Indian Guides and Indian Maidens and Boy Scouts with his children. He liked square dancing, camping, fixing things and traveling the World with Dorothy. He also liked to watch and read Westerns and War Stories.

Survivors include: daughters Barbara Scott (Wes Siegersma) of Pine Island, Minn.; Paulette (David) Hagen of Austin; Gayle (Rick) Miller of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; Melissa (Chris) Gramling of Florida; sons Allen (Dee Dee) Todalen of Spokane, Wash.; Roger (Jacqueline) Todalen of Austin; 10 grandchildren, Bridgette (Scott) Rydman of Las Vegas; Gina (Dave) Charbonneau and Dawn Todalen, all of Spokane, Wash.; Anthony (Shari) Huinker of Owatonna, Minn.; Jeff (Jennifer) Huinker of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; Sara (Jason) Minske of Lakeville, Minn.; Jennifer Todalen (Travvis Stayton) of Austin, Alissa (Matthew) Penkava of Hollandale, Minn.; Kelly Ann Todalen and Corey Todalen, both of Austin; five great grandchildren Ashley Rydman, Taylor Charbonneau, Grant Huinker, Savanah Stayton, Lauren Stayton, and ‘grand pup’ Ziggy Gramling. Sister; Loretta Varpness. Brother, John Todalen. Many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, parents, Halvor and Ruth Todalen, mother and father-in-law, Vesta and Ernest Haskin, granddaughter Brenda Kay Scott and great-granddaughter Olivia Ruby Stayton, brother-in-law, Edmund Varpness and several in-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor William Odermann officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
