One month after the crime, police have arrested an Austin man who allegedly broke into a home and assaulted a woman.

Police arrested Darren Yahudah Thompson, 25, who was also charged Wednesday in Mower County Court with first-degree burglary and domestic assault, both felonies.

According to the court complaint, the victim stopped letting Thompson in her Austin home; however, Thompson allegedly kicked in the door and hit the woman in the face. A friend of the victim called 911, and Thompson allegedly fled when he saw her on the phone. Police were not able to find Thompson, as he allegedly hopped a fence and took off.
