Hayfield sophomore Dani Wagner led off the game with a homerun and blasted another deep ball in the third inning as the No. 4 Vikings knocked off No. 5 Alden-Conger (12-4 overall) by a score of 8-6 in the first round of the Section 1A West Division softball tournament in Hayfield Friday.

Wagner now has seven homers on the year and the Vikings (10-11 overall) will take on top-seeded Blooming Prairie (16-3 overall) in Todd Park in Austin at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Friday’s game was delayed for 45 minutes due to lightning.
