Police said Tuesday that the Austin High School student who had been missing since last Monday is OK.

Police discovered that Britesha Hampton, 18, who was last seen walking to school last Monday, was staying with friends and didn’t know authorities and family members were looking for her, according to the police report.

Hampton’s father notified authorities at about noon last Thursday that he last saw Hampton walking to school on Monday, May 7, where she had a meeting at 8:30 a.m. The report does not list an exact location where Hampton went.

And she didnt have the common sense to call home…

but then again sounds like parents didnt really care since they waited 4 days to report her missing…

ever wonder how the pattern for her future kids just got set????

Maybe it was the updated description that the police put out that finally made people realize who they were looking for.

She’s 18, she’s an adult, she could have simply ID’d herself and told police she’s not missing.

But I do wonder about the timeline of notification. You’d think they would have called Monday night or Tuesday at the latest. I wonder if they were told there’s nothing that can be done for an adult until a certain amount of time has passed?

Just tossing that out there. Since the police couldn’t even get the color of her skin correct the first time I doubt we’ll ever know the whole truth behind what happened.

Either way, I’d rather see this story end like this than some of the other ways these missing teen stories have been ending lately.

This story is so ridiculous in so many ways…..One the parent didnt notify anyone for four days. Second, the teen didnt think maybe to call her parents in four days. But after all of this I hear this is an 18 year old with two kids that live with the teens mother. I am thinking the family dynamics are alittle messed up in this household.
