3rd man upgraded after crash that left 2 Austin men dead

An Elkton man who was in an accident that claimed the lives of two Austin men early Saturday is recovering at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Jason Fredrickson, 43, was in good condition at St. Marys as of Tuesday morning. Fredrickson was in intensive care Monday morning but was in fair condition later that day.

Fredrickson, Jacob Moe, 32, and Luke Unverzagt, 32, crashed their car through a utility pole, fence and a walnut tree some time around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Fourth Street SE north of County Road 28. Unverzagt was pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived and Moe was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, where he was later pronounced dead. Fredrickson was taken to MCHS-Austin before he was transported to St. Marys.
