The Austin Blue Sox snapped a five-game losing skid when they topped the Austin Athletics 12-6 in Marcusen Park Saturday.

The Blue Sox (2-9 overall) trailed the Athletics, who play in a 25-and-older league, 6-4 in the seventh but they put up eight runs in the bottom of the seventh to take over. Mark Harber had a three-run double that made it 10-6.

“We didn’t take it for granted and we did all the things we would normally do in a game,” Blue Sox player/manager Josh Kunze said. “As soon as we got the lead we closed it out, so hopefully we learned some killer instinct.”
