Art Center hosts upscale wine tasting
Get ready for a gentrified experience.
The Austin Area Arts Center is taking on an arthouse atmosphere this Thursday for its “Evening of Art and Fine Wine” fundraiser.
“It should be a very fine, fine show and wine tasting,” said Bonnie Lee, AAAC member.
It’s the first time AAAC members put on an art viewing and wine tasting. After about six weeks of planning, the art is set, the wine is ready (courtesy of Apollo Wine and Liquors) and the music is waiting.
The AAAC’s “Bold, Bodacious and Brave” gallery will still be up, as well as member art on display, including jewelry, paintings, copper work (including wine bottles and glass holders) and more. Peter Jacobs is set to perform as well, along with several local musicians including Theresa Snater Iverson and Nathan Wradislavsky, bringing a bit of jazz to the party.
“An Evening of Art and Fine Wine” will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at the AAAC inside Oak Park Mall. All proceeds will go towards art classes for children and adults, as well as other AAAC outreach opportunities. There is a $10 entry fee and free hors d’oeuvres.
