Mower County Sheriff’s deputies cited 15 area youth for minor consumption of alcohol after responding to an 18-year-old’s home Saturday night.

Joseph William Hoeft, 18, was cited for violating the social host ordinance after deputies broke up a party at his home on 728th Avenue near Grand Meadow at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sheriff Terese Amazi.

Amazi said a citizen anonymously told law enforcement their concerns about an underage party taking place. Deputies cited seven people 18-years-old or older and eight juveniles. Amazi said some party-goers who were cited came from as far as Winona, Stewartville and Rochester.
