Austin No. 2 seed, faces Blake in opening round of Class AAA tourney

The Austin Packers found out who their first-round opponent will be at the Class AAA Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament, which starts Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Austin (28-0), the No. 2 seed, will face The Blake School out of Hopkins (22-7) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the University of Minnesota’s Williams Arena.

The rest of the quarterfinal bracket breaks down like this: No. 1 seed De La Salle (27-1) opens with Sartell-Saint Stephen (17-12) at 10 a.m. at Williams Arena, No. 4 seed Delano (26-3) faces off with the No. 5 seed St. Paul Johnson (21-7) at noon on Wednesday at Williams Arena and No. 3 seed Marshall (27-2) will take on Grand Rapids (20-9) at 4 p.m. at Williams Arena.

The brackets for Class AA with Hayfield’s first-round game won’t be released until Sunday.
