Crash victim OK; locals remembering friend with yellow

A 15-year-old girl injured in a Wednesday car crash near Adams is still in the hospital, Rose Creek residents say.

Southland high-schooler Anna Bruggeman, from Rose Creek, is still recovering in the hospital. However, locals say she will undergo surgery and be OK.

Bruggeman was the passenger in the collision with a bus in which the driver, 16-year-old Tess Landherr from Rose Creek, died.

Southland students and parents mourned Thursday, and grief counselors from other school districts were at the school throughout the day. The Southland girls basketball team will continue with its game 8 p.m. Friday at Mankato East High School when they take on Hayfield in the section 2AA tournament. Students and staff are remembering Landherr with “Yellow Out for Tess,” in which students and staff are encouraged to wear yellow colors in her remembrance. The Hayfield basketball team will participate, as well.

A Funeral for Landherr will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rose Creek with Father Tom Loomis officiating. There will be a 3:30 p.m. rosary and a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Saturday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
