Burglary suspects plead not guilty

Two Austin teens charged with burglary after they allegedly tried to break into a woman’s home on Jan. 9 say they are not guilty.

Alex Enright, 19, and Cody Granle, 18, both charged with felony second-degree burglary, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mower County Court.

The homeowner reportedly returned home at about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 9 and saw the two suspects run from the back of her house to a black car. The homeowner gave the description of the suspects and car to police. The officer later found them at about 3:15 p.m. The suspects were reportedly trying to steal an Xbox and Playstation Portable. Enright was also charged with a misdemeanor for 1.4 grams of marijuana in a vehicle, to which he also pleaded not guilty.

Both suspects have scheduled May 3 pretrials.
