TRITON – The Hayfield softball team picked up its first win of the season when it beat Triton 5-3 on the road Monday.

The Vikings (1-1 overall, 1-1 HVL) mustered just four hits and Meg Tapp had two of them, including a two-out, two-run single that made it 5-1 in the third inning.

Dani Wagner put Hayfield on the board in the first inning when she walked, stole second and scored on a passed ball. Jami Drake started the third inning off with a bunt single and scored on a passed ball.

Rachel Masching added an RBI-single in the fourth for Hayfield.
