Pacelli, nation celebrate Catholic Schools Week

The next week will be an extra special time for students at Pacelli Catholic Schools.

Not only is the school celebrating Catholic Schools week, it is celebrating its 100th anniversary. From Friday, Jan. 25 to Feb. 3, the school will be in the midst of many events and entertainment geared at students, staff, parents and friends. A book fair will also run next Tuesday through Friday. An open house on Tuesday will feature games, art projects and technology projects for students, birthday cake for visitors and prizes.

Pacelli participates in Catholic Schools Week every year, and this year’s theme is “raise the standards.”

Principal Mary Holtorf noted the importance of Pacelli keeping high test scores.

“We take the test seriously, but I think it’s important our students are achieving above national norms,” she said.
