Wet conditions could turn to snow Tuesday night

A shot of cold, wet November weather could leave slushy conditions in southeastern Minnesota by Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service in LaCrosse, Wis., has issued a special weather statement for Mower, Dodge, Olmsted, Buffalo, Taylor and Wabasha counties. Near-freezing temperatures, along with one to two inches of snow could be on the way Tuesday night. Large accumulations are not expected because of the temperature, forecasted at an overnight low of 33.

Rain could move in Tuesday afternoon and later turn to snow and taper off by Wednesday morning. However, the worst weather will be north of the Kasson-Mantorville area and move into northwest Wisconsin, according to NWS. That area is in a winter weather advisory. Motorists in those areas should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.

Wednesday’s expected high is 39 degrees with a 60 percent chance of precipitation, but little to no snow accumulation.
