Local speller competes in spelling bee final
Shane DeSilva, Pacelli Catholic School seventh-grader, was one of 12 spellers to participate in the Southeast Minnesota Final Spelling Bee Tuesday at the Southeast Service Cooperative in Rochester. Shane placed first in the regional bee on Feb. 12.
The winner of the finals, sixth-grader Christine Farnberg, will compete in the national spelling bee in Washington D.C.
