Level 3 offender returning to AL

A Level 3 sex offender is returning to Albert Lea.

Cody Padraic Trott, 22, will be living in the 2100 block of Main Street East.

Authorities held an informational meeting when he was first released, so there won’t be another one, according to a city news release. He first moved to Albert Lea in the fall of 2011, which is when the meeting occurred. Back then, he was moving to East 11th Street.

He was arrested in April for probation violation after returning from a prison stint, said Albert Lea Police Department detective Frank Kohl.

A notification fact sheet released by the Albert Lea Police Department states Trott has a juvenile history of sexual contact — including penetration — with vulnerable juvenile victims, both male and female. He took advantage of the victims’ vulnerable states and used force to gain compliance, according to the fact sheet.

He was known to the victims and does not appear to have a pattern of perpetrating against people he doesn’t know.

Level 3 is an offender who has the highest likelihood of re-offending. Trott is under supervision by the Department of Corrections, along with Albert Lea police.
