Nominations sought for 2013 Austin Rotary Awards

Each year Austin Rotary Club honors local individuals who make exceptional contributions to the community.

This year, Rotary will give three separate awards: Community Service, Educator of the Year and Public Service in Government.

Each person honored will receive an engraved plaque at a noon Rotary luncheon meeting on June 24 at the Holiday Inn. A $200 check will be donated in their name to the local charitable cause of their choice.

Those eligible for the Educator Award are teachers, administrators, counselors or other professionals currently employed by a private or public school in Mower County, pre-school through college. Government Award nominees may include anyone currently employed by a local, state or federal government office located in Mower County.

Those eligible for the Community Service award maybe working in a paid or volunteer position and epitomize the motto “service above self.”

Nominees will be evaluated on completeness of the application, demonstration of positive leadership in the community, motivation of others to excellence, and demonstration of outstanding work or volunteer performance. All nominations must be received by May 27 and can be emailed to contact@austinrotary.org or sent to Austin Rotary Club, P.O. Box 703, Austin, MN 55912. Call Eric Connett at 507-437-4503 with questions.
