Reunion: Bendtsen family reunion

Danish and French heritage was the theme for the Ben and Ann Bendtsen get together. It was hosted by the Curty and Kay (Bendtsen) Lewison family. The gathering was held at the Adams City Park on Aug. 9. Beautiful weather, wonderful food, games, a program, and good old fashion reminicing was enjoyed by all. Coffee hour with Danish kringle and French pastries,were served at 10:30 a.m.

Danish and French flags were on display, along with pictures of Randers Denmark, where Ben was born and LaRochelle France where Anns people came from. There was memorabilia, family pictures, memory books and a beautiful art display by grandson Bennie Peters for all to enjoy.

A program was given with history of Randers Denmark, music, and comedy, followed with a mediallion hunt for a cash prize, a fish pond, relay races, bean bags, and other games. A special guest and family friend came from London to join the fun. She was a friend of the late Marcine Bendsten and a former model for the Christian Dior fashion house in Paris.

About 115 people came from Boston, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, London and many from Minnesota. T-shirts designed by grandson Kim Lewison and made by Games People Play were worn by most guests. Correspondence was handled by grandaugher Renae Dohlman. Helping Curty and Kay were daughters Renae, Ann, sons Kim, Cary, Kevin and Jeff. Gary and Barb Bendtsen will host in 2017. Living children of Ben and Ann include, Roma Samuelson, Mona Peters, Alan Bendsten, De Bendtsen, Kay Lewison, Karen Anderson, and Karol Blink.
