Zonta accepting applications for award

Applications for the 2013 Young Women in Public Affairs Award are now available from the Zonta Club of Austin.

The Young Women in Public Affairs program encourages more young women ages 16 to 20 to participate in public and political life by recognizing their commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. The program looks to the young women of today for the leaders of tomorrow.

Applicants are asked to reflect on their lives, their commitment to their communities and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific prospective career.
