New Richland native dies in Minneapolis
A 55-year-old New Richland native died Friday after he was reportedly pinned by a vehicle in a parking garage in Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, Michael Baynes died at the scene of the incident, International Market Square, 275 Market St., Minneapolis. The incident was classified as a “fatal traffic accident,” but no other details were available.
Baynes was the associate director of student life on the Minneapolis campus of St. Catherine University. He was also an adjunct professor and reportedly attended New Richland-Hartland High School.
His funeral service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
