Neil Diamond tribute concert to help Eagles pay taxes

Neil Diamond has the way to move you, Austin.

Keith Allynn, an award-winning Neil Diamond tribute artist, will perform at an outdoor concert at the Eagles Club parking lot Monday.

The show, organized by the Eagles, will help raise funds for the club to pay off the rest of its first-half property taxes this year. The Eagles Club previously owed more than $50,000 in unpaid property taxes, fees and interest, but paid off its deficit last year.

“The last year has really picked up, and we’re almost there,” said Shelley LeTendre, Eagles Club general manager. LeTendre said Eagles membership is up and business has been good, but the club wants to get ahead of the traditional summer slowdown for many businesses.

Allynn’s “A Neil Diamond Tribute” act is based out of Branson, Mo. Allynn is also well-known for his uncanny resemblance to Diamond.

“He looks and sounds just like him,” LeTendre said.

The show takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, at the Eagles Club parking lot. The show is open for all ages. Tickets are $15 to get in, and 15 percent of that will go toward the Eagles Club fundraiser.
