A group dedicated to the past is looking to the future.

Mower County Historical Society Executive Director Dustin Hackman asked the county board Tuesday to give input on its strategic plan for 2013 to 2018.

He’s also seeking opinions from the public.

A few issues to be looked at include future building and repair needs, community involvement and funding.

Hackman has recently applied for multiple grants for the Historical Society.

We’re plugging away,” Heckman said. “We’ve got a bunch of grants in the hopper right now.”

One grant would help put more records on microfilm.

“It should be a busy winter if we get all those,” he said of the grants.
