Dayton calls for moment of silence for Sandy Hook shootings
Gov. Mark Dayton Thursday called for Minnesotans to observe a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday in honor of the victims of the Dec. 14 Sandy Hook Elemtentary School shooting in Newtown, Conn.
As part of the statement, Dayton asked all places of worship and government buildings that are able to ring bells 26 times during the moment of silence in honor of each of the students’ and educators’ lives taken in the shootings.
