AHS student still missing; police update description

Police have updated information in the case of a local 18-year-old girl who has not been seen since last Monday.

According to Police Chief Brian Krueger, the missing girl, Britesha Hampton, an Austin High School student, is 5-foot-6, 225 pounds and black. Police originally listed her as white and 160 pounds. The report states that Hampton’s parents saw her going to school at 8:30 a.m., where Hampton was supposed to have a meeting. School officials say Hampton never appeared at her meeting, and that morning was the last time anybody saw Hampton. Hampton has black hair and brown eyes. She lived with her father, who notified authorities about Hampton at about noon on Thursday.

Police have contacted the National Crime Information Center about Hampton; however, they have not been able to get a photo of her. The report also did not list any speculation of who Hampton could be with or where she went.

Anybody with information can call the Austin Police Department at 507-437-9400.
