Zenón joins JazzMN Orchestra for finale
Multiple Grammy nominee and Guggenheim and MacArthur fellow Miguel Zenón will play with JazzMN Orchestra for their final concert of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Auditorium at Hopkins High School.
A renowned saxophonist, Zenón has developed a unique voice as a composer and as a conceptualist, concentrating his efforts on a mix between Latin American folkloric music and jazz.
Among the list of musicians with whom Zenón has toured and/or recorded are The SFJAZZ Collective, Charlie Haden, Fred Hersh, Kenny Werner, David Sánchez, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, The Mingus Big Band, Bobby Hutcherson and Steve Coleman.
Tickets purchased in advance for New Your Voices are $28 for balcony seats, $30 for main floor seats, and $18 for students, with same-day tickets available for $30 for the balcony, $34 for the main floor, and $10 for student rush.
